OUR HISTORY

 

On June 9, 1968, Rev. Richard Mitchell Logan and six other families from the Brentwood community formed New Jerusalem Baptist Church. Rev. Logan was dedicated to the progress of New Jerusalem Baptist Church and its congregation as evidenced by its expansion, ministries, and family-like culture. Rev. Logan, a 33 Mason, was the last surviving Founding Father of St. Marks Lodge No. 19 of Brentwood, New York, which was established in 1972. Rev. Logan shepherded the New Jerusalem Baptist Church congregation faithfully until June 2010 when his health began to fail him. Rev. Logan was relocated to the Whitehall Manor Assisted Living Facility in Whitehall, Pennsylvania where he remained until God called him home.
